Jane Doe is the name they give you when your own has been taken away. It's what you're called in the filing, the report, the headline — a placeholder for a woman nobody is allowed to name.

This is for all of them. Wearing it says you're not looking away, and you're not leaving her standing there by herself.

As a woman myself, I'm making these in solidarity with every woman who has lived some version of this. And every woman who has been handed that name. You were never a placeholder.

We are all Jane Doe.
